Probus is a local, national and international association of retired people who meet together on a regular basis. It is a non-political and non-sectarian movement, whose origins in the UK date back to 1965, for professional and business people wanting to retain a form of fellowship on retirement and have a social outlet through which they find new friends and enjoy and expand personal interests.

There are approximately 25 Probus Clubs in Gloucestershire. Stratton Probus was founded in 1986 and has around 30 members from Stratton and the surrounding area. It meets every second and fourth Thursday of each month (except August and December) at Cirencester Golf Club for talks on a wide range of subjects. The meetings are preceded by coffee from 9:45am and conclude around 12 noon. In addition we regularly organise breakfast before a meeting or lunch afterwards. Visits are also organised during the year to places of interest, including some for members' wives and partners, and the year's activities conclude with a festive Christmas lunch.

Membership of Probus is a sociable and rewarding experience. New members are encouraged and will always be assured of a warm welcome. If you are interested in joining please contact us using the details below.
